The Classic Hamburger

Ingredients 1 Onion
1 tbsp. Olive Oil
1 lb. Ground Chuck Steak or Ground Round Steaks
1/4 tsp. Mixed Dry Herbs (sage, parsley, thyme, rosemary)
2/3 cup Fine Breadcrumbs
1 small Egg
4 Hamburger Buns

Indoor Preparation Chop 1/2 onion very finely and slice the other half. Sauté the chopped onion in half of the olive oil for a few minutes, remove and let cool, then mix with meat. Mix meat with dry herbs, breadcrumbs and egg. Form into patties the same size as buns.

Outdoor Preparation Grill meat until hamburgers are cooked to well done. At the same time, pre-heat skillet and fry onion with remaining oil. (A sideburner will let you fry your onions without smelling up the whole house!) To serve, slit hamburger buns and toast each half. Lay hamburgers on buns and garnish with fried onions.
