The Perfect Hamburger 101
There are hundreds of hamburger recipes, from plain varieties to fancy creations. You can add anything from onions and spices for flavour, raw
eggs to bind it all together, bread crumbs for tenderness, and even an ice chip right in the middle of your burger for juiciness.
Whatever your personal preferences, Fiesta Barbeque recommends making nice thick patties (about 1 inch). Toast buns cut side down for 2-3
minutes then transfer to warming rack. Barbeque the hamburgers on medium for 12-14 minutes, turning only once, until done. If desired, melt
one slice of cheese over each patty during the last 2 minutes. Serve with crisp lettuce, juicy tomatoes and your favourite fixin's!
Want something different?
Burgers are probably the most popular of barbecued foods, and these days you can substitute ground turkey or ground chicken,
or even a veggie burger for something a little different. You can also try one of many other varieties of sandwiches, such as steak
sandwiches, chicken breast on a bun or barbequed pork. When cooking burgers, the one golden rule that outdoor chefs should always
follow is not compress them while cooking, no matter what the temptation - Squishing them with the spatula will result in a dry and tough burger!
